THE BOGNOR Friday Night Summer League divisional singles knockouts took place at the Newtown Social Club and a record 71 players turned up to compete, including six former champions.

In the division-three contest, Guy Watson just beat Julie English (both Friary C’) and Gary Blackwood and Gary Miller (both Claremont) had a good battle which Blackwood won.

The final saw Blackwood hit double top for the first leg. Watson started the second leg with 85, but Blackwood was too consistent for him and took the division-three title.
