VIDEO: Sport in 2014 - Holes in one from a helicopter!
In June, more than 1,000 golf balls were dropped on to a green at Cowdray Park from a helicopter hovering at 90ft above to raise money for charity – and there were two ‘holes in one’.
Hampshire-based Atlas Helicopters organised the stunt which was watched by a crowd of spectators and raised more than £4,500 for Treloar School and College in Alton, which provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities.

Hide AdBalls were sold for £5 each and the ones that went in the hole won their buyer £250 each.
Atlas Helicopters owner Capt Mike Burns proposed the drop after being asked to sponsor the school’s Burns Night. He was moved by the work the charity does so set about organising the event and managed to sell more than 1,000 balls.
After Capt Burns carefully positioned the copter, his Atlas colleague Roy Adams tipped the balls from a modified wheelie bin with an attached rope and they plummeted onto the specially-made green.
The green was down a slight slope so the balls were dropped about 15 feet away from the pin. It took about eight seconds for the balls to roll to a stop and the two winners were identified.
