Here are Jack Butler's thoughts on the players on a dismal day for for the Reds.
1. Glenn Morris - 6.5
Great save, when Theo Robinson broke through in the opening five minutes. Whilst, he arguably couldn’t do much about the first two Port Vale goals, Morris was well and truly stitched up for the third.
2. George Francomb - 6.5
Constantly battling and often provided outlet as he got forward down the right. Booked for pulling down Robinson as Port Vale broke. Like his teammates, he struggled to deal with the pace of Port Vale’s attacking quartet and was caught out often.
3. Joe McNerney - 6
A difficult day as Port Vale’s attack looked a threat every time the ball was played in behind. Good when challenging in the air, but, as soon as he was running back towards his goal Crawley were in trouble. His poor header back to Morris led to the Port Vale third.
4. Tony Craig - 6
Towering headers and a great recovery to stop Devante Rodney as he burst through, but Port Vale’s attackers had the run on him and it showed especially in the last twenty. Still, good to see him back - despite the Reds performance.
