Jackett told The Portsmouth News: "Obviously Brighton are a good side and, while some of our build-up play was very good, one or two of the goals were avoidable from our point of view.
“But also they had some quality and scored some quality goals.
“We did sometimes make the wrong decision and, as ever, when you are playing against a Premier League side they are ruthless in terms of hitting the target. The second goal was a fantastic strike.

“Similarly, going the other way, we got ourselves into a lot of good positions and unfortunately couldn’t capitalise.
“If you have a look at our corner count, it was double figures against a Premier League side.
“Brighton had a lot of quality and it was tough for us - but I was pleased with the morale and attitude of the side. We kept going.”
