Davis misses out on top 32 ranking

SNOOKER star Mark Davis has seen his dreams dashed of gaining a place in the coveted world top 32.

The St Leonards ace slipped to a narrow 5-4 defeat against Joe Swail in the first round of the European Open.

Davis, provisionally ranked 33, had to reach the final of the last event of his season to stand any chance of improving his ranking.
