Rye school children enjoy royal visit from the Duke of Kent

The Duke of Kent was in Rye today visiting Rye College and officially opening Rye's new state-of-the-art primary school.
The Duke met Rye College head Ann Cockerham and toured the school chatting to pupils and staff.

He also heard a short recital on Rye College's historic Wurlitzer Organ, performed by organist Len Rawle, before watching a dance and drama presentation by talented students from the college.

The Duke unveiled a plaque at Rye Community Primary School, declaring the school officiall open.

He was joined by school head Paul Reilly in a tour of the new building and met and chatted to pupils.
