Windfall of top exhibits at summer show
They helped to make the annual event last Saturday a great success.
There were more entries in the floral art and the fruit and vegetable section than before as well as more children's entries.

Hide AdPart of the reason for the increase is believed to be people's desire to appreciate vegetables they have grown themselves.
The judges were faced with a difficult task to pick the winners from the mass of exhibits. Not all entries were for flowers and vegetables. There are sections for pot plants to make it possible for flat-owners to enter.
Cooks get the chance to shine as well in the baking sections, while the floral art, painting and photographic categories provide scope for those with creative abilities.
First-time floral exhibitors benefit from a helpful hint for either a committee member or another exhibiter.

Hide AdAll exhibits are displayed in the containers provided to ensure a level playing field for the judges.
