USA honour for horsewoman
A horsewoman has been honoured in the United States for her work promoting the status of a famous American breed this side of the Atlantic.
Cheryl Lutring, 58, from North Road, Alfriston, was awarded the Jenkins International Trophy presented in an Oscar-style ceremony at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky.
Cheryl is the founder and president of the American Saddlebred Association of Great Britain.
She received a standing ovation from a 450-strong audience of leading lights in the breed association.
The trophy was sponsored by the US-based Association on its home turf.
