Rock show marks end of Battle’s Big Event

BATTLE’S Big Event will finish with a bang with a weekend of live music on September 7 and 8.

It doesn’t seem long since Battle’s Big Event, a community festival of sport and culture, kicked off the beginning of summer, but Battle Rocks will bring the event to a close on the recreation ground at North Trade Road.

Organisers are promising that Battle Rocks will be the biggest feast of music the town has seen at least since the demise of the Battle Abbey Proms and probably for long before that.

The doors will open at 6pm on Friday September 7, with four local bands lining up to entertain revellers from 7pm.

First up is Duke Box, who are sure to cater for all musical tastes with their diverse musical repertoire.

Next up will be the 1066 Rockit Men, a group of local heroes who have their own massive following of fans.

Two tone and ska band SKA’d for Life are guaranteed to get everyone up on their feet whilst Sonic Oblivion will close the show with their own unique takes on well-known hits.
