Horsham District Council fills finance director post

Jane Eaton, the new director for corporate resources, is replacing Katharine Eberhart, who has moved to West Sussex County Council’s to become its director of finance.
Previously Mrs Eaton worked in the shared management team for East Hampshire district and Havant borough councils, and at HDC will be responsible for finance, commissioning and performance, audit, legal and democratic services, IT, HR and organisational development.

Hide AdShe said: “I am delighted to be joining Horsham District Council as director of corporate resources.
“Amongst my first tasks will be helping the council to develop and deliver its medium term financial strategy to ensure we can continue to provide the quality services residents expect despite the severe funding constraints we face.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the officers and councillors in this exciting role.”
She will also be working closely with chief executive Tom Crowley, fellow directors, service managers, and the Cabinet on the next phase of HDC’s transformation plan.

Hide AdRay Dawe, leader of the council, added: “Jane’s appointment is excellent news for the council and for the residents of the Horsham district.
“We have reached the end of the first phase in our business transformation programme and have put in place the building blocks for offering consistently good customer service and overall improvement in the way we deliver our services.”
Mrs Eaton was executive head of governance and logistics at East Hampshire and Havant, and has 25 years’ experience working in public services.
