It had all my cards in it and my mobile phone - all of which would have been very troublesome to cancel and replace if they had been stolen. The landlady not only handed the jacket over for safekeeping at Littlehampton Station but took the trouble to use my phone to leave a message on the last number I had dialled. What a star!
That’s one pub I will definitely be using in future.
Thanks also to staff at Littlehampton Station. It had been a difficult journey from Victoria (following a long journey from Sheffield) with one train taken out of service at Haywards Heath and the following train much delayed, all in very hot weather, and I was cursing Southern Rail but there is nothing wrong with the good people who work for them.
