LETTER: Thought on religion

The news is shocking and disturbing, not least because the man who lost his life for writing these words was not a Christian, but a devout Ahmadi Muslim named Asad Shah.
The idea of a Muslim following Jesus may be a startling one to some people, but religious labels are dangerous things.

No, even though following Jesus is supposed to be what Christianity is all about.
When we appear before God to give an account of our lives, he will not look at whether we wrote ‘Christian’ when asked to state our religion.
If Jesus is the Saviour of the world, what ultimately matters will be how we respond to what we know of him.
