Knife '˜held to student's throat' at Hastings school

Police are investigating the incident at The Hastings Academy, described by the school as involving a child with a statement of special educational need showing ‘threatening behaviour’ with a knife towards another student.
No one was injured but the matter was dealt with swiftly and nobody was in any danger, according to the academy on Rye Road.

Hide Ad“Police are investigating an incident at Hastings Academy in Rye Road, Hastings, on Monday (December 12) where it is alleged that a pupil held a knife to another student’s throat. Nobody was injured,” a police spokesman said.
An academy spokesman added: “We can confirm that there was an isolated incident yesterday at The Hastings Academy involving a child with a statement of special educational need, who demonstrated threatening behaviour towards another student with a knife.
“The incident was dealt with swiftly and appropriately by senior staff at the academy and at no time were any students in danger.
“The matter is being fully investigated and this process is still on-going.”
