Gritter visits Coolham school after pupils win competition to name vehicle
Pupils at William Penn Primary School in Brooks Road were delighted to welcome the Balfour Beatty operated gritter, one of three that was christened this year as part of West Sussex County Council’s ‘Name a Gritter’ competition.
Jack Osborne, a Year 6 pupil at the school, came up with the winning name ‘Snow Buster’ and received £20 of high street vouchers on Wednesday.

Hide AdThe school also received a grit bin, grit salt and snow shovel.
The children also heard a safety talk about WSCC’s ‘Be Safe Be Seen’ campaign.
The two other winner’s of this year’s competition were Durrington First School and East Preston Junior School.
