Tracy Elwell, 39, has survived four major operations to remove brain tumours. She has been faced with the condition since the age of four and half when she suffered from epilepsy and went into a coma when she was 19. An operation to remove a tumour in 2000 left Tracy blind and affected her mobility. Her family organised a recent Arts and Crafts Fair at Northiam Village Hall which raised £1.100, but since then more donations have flooded in and the total now stands at £2,290. The money will go to the Brainwave Charity, which provides support and therapy for families coping with neurological conditions, and the Kings College Neurological Unit in London. Her mum Carolyn Elwell said: “We go through this as a family and as a family we wanted to give something back. It was our way of saying thank you. “It is a miracle that she is still here after what she has gone through. “We were aiming to raise £500 so we are really delighted that we have achieved this amount.”
