Emergency services respond to bomb scare near Gatwick

Police have closed a road by Gatwick Airport following reports of an unexploded bomb.

Charlwood Road was closed off this evening (Sunday, March 28) following reports of an explosive device.

Explosive Ordinance Disposal crews were called to the scene along with police officers and fire crews.

The item was found not to be an explosive and all units were stood down at about 7.45pm.
