Hastings entrepreneurs recognised by Dragons’ Den star

Maria Alegre, 38, and Sara Barnard, 37, co-founded Pharos Career Consultants only six months ago and were chosen among more than 200 applicants for retail tycoon Theo Paphitis’ ‘Small Business Sunday’ award.
Maria and Sara say their business helps key workers find roles in teaching and the NHS by helping them to write CVs and cover letter, as well as giving interview coaching.

Hide AdThe duo said, “We started our business during the pandemic, as co-founders we haven’t even seen each other in person since starting the business.”
Between them they have 40 years’ joint experience in career consultancy.
They said, “It is great to have support from Theo and Small Business Sunday because it’s helped us reach more people who need our services.”
Sara and Maria say they hope to do their bit for the community during the pandemic and help people who want to join careers in healthcare and education - essential for the Hastings community.
