Battle Choral Society’s autumn concert takes place on Saturday November 30th at Christ Church, Silchester Road, St. Leonards at 7.30 p.m. and the performance begins with the much loved ‘Gloria’ composed by Antonio Vivaldi around 1715.

Lost for over 200 years the work was eventually re-discovered and performed in 1939.

In the second half the choir will be singing Rossini’s beautiful Petite Messe Solennelle. The Mass is probably less well known than others in the repertoire but in true Rossini style it has wonderful melodies and, in places, an almost dance like rhythm.
